DHS Secretary Defends Obama Immigration Policies in ‘Farewell’ Address

By: Robert Law

In what is likely his final act as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary, Jeh Johnson defended the Obama administration’s immigration policies in his exit memo.

The memo, which Secretary Johnson titled “Record of Progress and Vision for the Future,” declared that “Today, it is now much harder to cross our southern border without authorization and avoid detection and apprehension. Apprehensions in recent years – a strong indicator of total attempts to cross the border – are much lower than they used to be.” (DHS Exit Memo, Jan. 5, 2017 at 5) Regarding the surge of unaccompanied alien minors (UAMs) that began in the summer of 2014 (and still continues), Johnson said, “We responded with a number of aggressive border security, immigration enforcement, and enhanced processing measures, and the flow dropped sharply by August 2014.” (Id. at 7)

Virginia Refuses to Track Tuberculosis Cases of Refugees

Refugee Resettlement Map of Virginia

Ann Corcoran | Refugee Resettlement Watch

Virginia does not note refugee status in records on active Tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the state; 44 other states do.  Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart continued his excellent series of investigative reports on the incidence of active TB in the US refugee population with this report from Virginia.  Yesterday we told you about two other Leahy articles on TB in refugees earlier this week, see here.

Leahy on this Virginia revelation:

The state of Virginia refuses to track the number of refugees it resettles who are diagnosed with active tuberculosis (TB).

the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) does not think it should be a priority to track foreign-born TB cases by category, as do 44 states who have provided the CDC with that data since 2012 (Tennessee became the 45th state to do so in 2014) in its annual Report on Tuberculosis in the United States.

“The Virginia Department of Health does not collect the data you have requested,” a spokesperson for VDH responded when Breitbart asked to know the immigration status upon first entry of the 168 foreign-born residents of Virginia diagnosed with active TB in 2015.

More here.

For more on refugee health see our ‘Health issues’ category by clicking here. And, remember readers, your tax dollars pay for expensive TB medication (if the case is discovered!).

BTW, still have had no one tell me if volunteers, working with resettlement agencies, are trained to spot symptoms or are educated on how to protect themselves and their families from becoming infected with TB when they work with newly arrived refugees.

Congressman Lou Barletta’s Bill To Defund Sanctuary Cities

It is important that you reach out to your member of Congress and insist that he/she supports this vital legislation.

Michael Cutler | Front Page Magazine

Time and again our elected political “representatives” on all levels of government have acted in ways that failed to truly represent the best interests of America and Americans.

Time and again my articles have focused on my frustration and anger over how all too many politicians have obstructed the effective enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws.

I have written extensively about how members of Congress who supported so-called, “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” blithely ignored the findings and, indeed, warnings about the 9/11 Commission by concocting legislation that would provide unknown millions of illegal aliens with official identity documents and lawful status even though there would be no way to conduct interviews or field investigations to screen to combat immigration fraud.  Visa fraud and immigration benefit fraud were identified as key entry and embedding tactics of international terrorists.

“Sanctuary Cities” created by rogue mayors operate in direct opposition of Title 8 U.S. Code § 1324 – (Bringing in and harboring certain aliens), an immigration criminal statute that address harboring, shielding, aiding and abetting, encouraging and inducing aliens to enter the United States illegally and/or remain in the United States illegally after entry. Why Jihadists Are So Dedicated To Islam And Are So Successful

Refugee resettlement and migrations into the United States of those who are diametrically opposed to our constitution and western civilization must cease.  Americans depend on Trump to keep his promises and secure our country from those that threaten the American way of life

There Must Be Reasons Why Jihadists Are Enthusiastically Willing To Die For Islam And Simultaneously Are Scoring Successes Against The “Modern” Western World

By Col. Tom Snodgrass (Ret.), Virginia Free Citizen

Mohammed Ingeniously Crafted An Imperial Politico-Military Doctrine In The Guise Of A Religion

In order to strategically analyze the success of the Islamic jihadist war being waged against Western Civilization and produce a useful analysis, the inquiry must examine the loyalty-riveting features and deception aspects that Mohammed built into his ersatz religion, which he pasted together by plagiarizing the attractive beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and paganism. Border Surge Continues as Obama’s Presidency Dwindles

Unaccompanied alien minors (UAMs) and “family units,” primarily from Central America, are surging across the Southern border at record rates in the waning days of Barrack Obama’s presidency. New Border Patrol apprehension statistics paint an alarming picture: 15,573 family units and 7,406 UAMs were apprehended in November. (CBP Southwest Border Apprehensions) The number of UAMs apprehended is up slightly from the 6,722 in October but significantly higher than the 5,604 apprehended last November. (Id.)
